Lord of Winds

As always, a single flick of my
feathers will send the
watchers below into
spirals of chaos.
Hoots and wails
not unlike those of my
night time enemies
will drift loudly up to my eyrie
rasping at my senses.
And so i leave,
ignoring the gasps and
calls of the irritating
wingless ones far below
as once again my own
wings spread outwards in flight.
Then I laugh to myself as I
let loose the call of
my soul, keening high
into the heavens above.
And now the once brazen
sounds of the watchers
will cease and the silence
of their obvious awe
will lift me further up
into the waiting expanse
of the sky that
i will always rule.
